Hi everyone, I really appreciate all the effort put in as a team. I spoke to the judges individually after the feedback session and also the CCA officers. They had positive comments and they enjoyed the music very much. I also got the contact of the judge from Australia :D (right, okay? haha) I honestly don't care that much about the result, I was very happy from the moment you played your final note on stage. I was very satisfied and pleased with TPJC, SAC and ACJC, that means ALL of you! I feel proud of your performance and you muct hold your head up high because your conductor (in one of the very rare and honest moments) is reminding you that WE
DID VERY WELL for the SYF performance. Thank you very much! :)
well, today was a long day for those who went to watch the results. get some rest, and we'll see you in school soon! I hope.

HEY ALL!I just wanna say congrats to everyone because
WE DID IT! And I'm here on behalf of the seniors saying we are
IMMENSELY PROUD of every single on of you! today was by far (and I really mean it) our
BEST performance! don't care about what other people say! because all that matters is you know that
YOU did your best and
WE all made it through together! and besides, I'm sure the teachers who were there were really happy with our performance!
well compared to the first time we've played, we played
WAY BETTER didn't we? all of us have made the closest friends we'll remember probably forever and I'm sure this SYF has bonded the whole ensemble. and not just people in your level alone but senior-junior relationships as well! I guess what I'm trying to say is, treasure the relationships you have with each other! because it'll give you great memories when you look back one day! I don't even remember crying so bad last year! haha, SEEEE we do love you

so I guess that's it! we'll know how well we've done tomorrow at 3 plus! but no matter the result you all have played your best today! AND
I REALLY MEAN IT. so don't be sad about the results. if we cry, let it be tears of joy! if we get good results, treat it as bonus to the hard work we have put in!
so anyway, for those who are going to watch the results tomorrow!( I'm guessing its mostly the sec 3s and 4s) since we're having assembly, petrina says to bring your bag along and leave it at the back of the hall and we'll leave together! we'll most likely cab there because getting to RP will be FOREVER.
I think this will be one of the last few posts I'll be posting, so
TREASURE IT! hahaha (: the seniors would like all the juniors to know that you guys are really the best and we'll miss you truckloads! thanks for all the memories you've given us, I think we'll remmeber them forever!

Dear all SAC guitarists,
27 April will be here pretty soon and we all have waited for this day. Do rest well and sleep early over the weekend, or else you will get dark circles round your eyes and i'm sure you girls don't want those to blend with your make-up on monday right? Anyway, do spend an hour or so to practise on the parts that you still need to work on, but don't OVER-PRACTISE okay? Give yourself and your fingers amble rest. I believe that we can play well and beautifully on monday. Just need to smile a little more, FEEL and MOVE along with the music more...don't be so OPPRESSED like what Mr Choo has mentioned and STONED like what Angelyn has commented. So take note on that. Just let go of yourself, let go of your nervousness and follow Mr Choo's lead, everything will be fine. Do LOOK UP more since you all have got no more files to look at, so try to LOOK UP and FOLLOW Mr Choo's conducting as much as possible. Our TOGETHER-NESS is important. WE SHALL MOVE TOGETHER, ENJOY THE TIME TOGETHER AND GO THROUGH IT TOGETHER. As some of you have mentioned or rather given feedbacks on last wednesday rehearsal, if you think that it might be too cold, please bring your jacket or hand warmer on monday. Before you go on stage, do hand exercise and stretch your fingers. DON'T EVER TELL YOUR FRIENDS THAT YOU'RE SCARED AND NERVOUS, BECAUSE THEY'RE JUST AS NERVOUS AS YOU, AND YOU'RE JUST GONNA MAKE IT WORSE BY SAYING IT OUT. NERVOUSNESS IS CONTAGIOUS! so just remain silent for a few minutes before entering the stage and calm down. Breathe deep in and tell yourself that YOU CAN DO IT! okay? My friend from Angklung told me to tell you all to just ENJOY THE MUSIC, DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE RESULT OR WHAT MEDAL WE'RE GONNA GET. So, don't be too stressed up and smile to everyone before the show starts. Okay? =)
Here's a few things all of you have to take note for Monday:
- Bring gown and court shoes (very important! and please try your best not to crumble your gown)
- Bring black hair rubberband and black clips
- No hairband
- No watches and necklaces
- No sport bra
- Remember who is sitting next to you and enter/exit stage in order
- Look out for when Mr Choo comes out on stage and stand up together
- Remember how to stand, where your hands should place on your guitar while standing (both hands on top of the guitar)
- DO NOT fidgeting about (touching your hair, face etc..) at the end of the pieces or when you're standing!
The plan for Monday:
7:45-8:00 : Assemble at sunken foyer before proceeding to dance studio (aft assembly)
8:00-10:30 : Hair, make-up
10:30-11:00 : Collect instruments, move to AV, clean guitars and finish up the make-up
11:00-11:30 : Lunch (not provided)
11:30-12:20 : Change to gown, patch up on the make-up
12:20-12:30 : Warm up
12:30-13:30 : Dry run
13:30-13:40 : Leave school
13:40-14:30 : Reporting time
15:00 : Performance time
p.s: Please sleep early on sunday night and DO NOT BE LATE for school on Monday!

HELLO EVERYONE!!
SYF is drawing near!! 8 More days left, only 2 more practices! Let's not waste anymore time, we must make the best out of the remaining two practices! I know practices are getting rather
intensive now but i want everyone of you to
PERSERVE!
Seniors, enjoy the last few practices with the ensemble before we head for the stage!
The school, the teachers, the seniors are all counting on us to come back with a
GWH again!
We must make them proud, yeah?

A big hello wello to all!
Since I can't drop by for any of the practices, I'll just like to say some stuff here! Tomorrow, saturday and the coming monday, please try to really polish up everything, expression also please! On the 22nd when I see you all at TPJC, I really want to see a confident, impressive and smart-looking group of SAC girls playing on stage! And since I can't make it for your SYF also, please don't disappoint me on the 22nd, perform the best for me to see okay! (:
It's 9 days to the SYF, don't let nervousness rule over you. You should feel EXCITED, yes EXCITED! Aren't you excited that you can FINALLY showcase the 2 pieces which you've been playing over the months? Aren't you happy that your chance has come to shine after seeing the other PFA groups coming back with pride? Sec 4s, aren't you glad that your journey in the ensemble will end with something that you've put so much effort in? When you step on stage, just focus, and you can afford to look proud (yes stand tall, walk and sit GRACEFULLY, DON'T display the 'omg-i-am-so-scared' face), don't think about whether you will miss a note or not, but rather, you can play it so well becos you've play it at least 500 times before so you're a pro now! YES, YOU'RE A PRO, YOU'RE AWESOME! (okay don't let your heads swell, but I hope you feel GREAT ENOUGH to unleash your super pro talent on stage) OH YA, SLEEP EARLY NEXT NEXT SUNDAY UH!

hey all!
let's see, it's just another 2 weeks till SYF. and as of this week, we're gonna start extra practices. I know, some of us have tuition/piano or whatever stuff but it's just gonna be for 2 weeks. so let's just sacrifice for just another 2 weeks yea?
for the sec 4s, guess what? we're gonna leave the ensemble soon, and YES, syf will be our LAST and final performance. I'm sure all of us want to leave having known that we've done our part in cca right? and besides, it's through cca that we've got to know friends that we've grown to love (: i know all of us have to prepare for O's and we have to sacrifice much of our study time, and all the pile of homework just continues to get higher and higher. but common, we've got to persevere for just another 2 weeks, and also treasure the time we have left together in the ensemble.
common guys, WE CAN DO IT! we do want to mantain our GWH standard right?

Hello everyone.
As you know we are gonna have extra
practice for sectionals for the next few weeks because there isn't much time left and we need extra practice to improve on certain areas so i hope your can co-operate with us and come for the practices. Its just for the next few weeks! Remember we are taking part in the
SYF TOGETHER!!
I've send a
sms to some of your to choose either wed or
thursday for the extra practice and the MAJORITY prefers WEDNESDAY!
so its CONFIRM on
WEDNESDAy. we will start from next week onwards from 3.30 to 5.30.
We are also wanting to have another extra practice one
saturday most probably next week too! we will get back to your soon.
I hope all those with tuition or other activities on the various extra
practices can postpone it to another day. I
realllyyyyy want FULL attendance!!

SYF Preparation Quick Check!1) Have you memorised your pieces thoroughly? (Every single note, dynamics, phrasing, tempo)2) Are you able to play without looking at your fingers at least for more than 50% of your piece?3) Are you producing a good tone? Is it too sharp or are you buzzing? 4) Are you able to listen to the other guitar parts when playing? 5) Are you able to immerse yourself in the music and feel the flow of it?6) Are you expressing your feelings by nodding?7) Did you take a deep breath at the start of the pieces and at any other appropriate places?8) Are you looking at the conductor for at least more than 60% of the time?9) Did you file/shape your nails?10) Have you change your guitar strings?11) Have you clean your guitar?12) Are you clear of your seating arrangement?13) Are you clear of how to enter/exit on stage?14) Do you know the standardized way of holding the guitar?15) Do you know how to stand on stage?16) Do you know who is sitting infront/beside (left and right) you?17) Do you know what time you will be playing on the RP stage?18) Are you clear of what you have to bring for SYF? (make up, shoes, gown etc)If your answers are all yes to the above questions, congrats! You are on the way to the battle of the SYF! If you have any NO to the above questions, please please please ask your section leaders/student conductor/presidents/Mr Choo. 18 days to the SYF, YOU will determine how the battle is gonna be like, and YOU, the team of 2009 will decide how you are going to rock the house down with your 2 pieces and convince YOUR audience!
