Hello!

Firstly, I really need the replies for the number of seats you are reserving for the recital. At present, 79 out of 100 seats are filled. If I do not get any answer from you by Wednesday, I'll take it as none. Please let me know ASAP, it'll make my life much much easier, thank you.

Here's the names of confirmed performers for OUR recital.
Justina Choo, Jia Ying, Cheryl Low, Eunice Zhou, Jeanette, Kimberly, Shonelle, Stacia, Justina Lim, Charlyn, Gillian, Victoria, Alicia, Amanda Ng, Clarissa, Cheryl Zou, Sindy, Jia Yan, Petrina, Amanda Siow, Michelle, Bernadette, Zoe, Beatrice, Ru Yann, Eunice Lau, Rachel Thong, Valerie, Maria, Rachel Quek, Rachel Tan, Shin Ling, Sherrill, Sarah, Qinghua, Cherie, Ethel, Bridget, Justina Gay, and Me! (:

Usherers for OUR recital.
Jessica, Regine, Imelda, Chai Na, Cassandra, Pei Lin, Collette, Carissa, Nazhuurah, Joxanne, Karina, Farhana, Kar Yui, Shi Qi.

If your name is not there, look for me. Anyway, it has been decided by the teachers that you do not have a choice of whether you want to perform or not. Being in a CCA, does not give you the right to come and go as you want.

ALL performers have to bring the GOWN and SHOES on Monday (7/4). Usherers, please come in FULL-U. Practice on Monday will start at 2.45pm as there is NAPFA 5 items going on, so there isn't tutorials for sec 4s, so I assume that at least 90% of the ensemble will be available at 2.45pm. Practiseeeeee hard and well these few days! If you want to bring home your guitar, you can collect it from the props room tomorrow, between 2.45pm to 4.30pm or look for Mr Ng on Thursday, between 1.45pm to 2.30pm to claim your guitars.

More updates coming up this week so do check here regularly! All the best for your 2.4km run! Oh yes, if you still want to purchase the band concert tickets, you can approach me as I'm able to help you get! (:

ANGELYNNN! (:

Hello all,
[\edited]

All current and probation committee, and music leaders (SA, ASL, SL) are required to stay back on Tuesday (1/4) from 245-430pm for meeting, recital/logistics work. Meet at the props room. I hope to see all of you there, justify your role and contribution as leaders of the ensemble! Let me know if you can't make it due to valid reasons. Thank you.

With our recital nearing, & the lack of practices we are currently facing, we need to speed up our learning process. The senior ensemble has gone through all the pieces, and now, we need to teach all the sec 2s so, a buddy system is up to promote one-to-one teaching/mentorship in order to learn faster. Anyway, practice tomorrow starts at 3pm, MPR 2. Please remember to show your parents the invitation, and I need all your replies by tmr. Sec 1s, practice for you will start at 3.30pm.

Before I type out the buddy system, I'll like to emphasize the importance of turning up for practices. To be very frank, one absentee can just drag down the whole group's pace of learning. Think about the extra time spent just to teach you becos you're absent. Spare a thought for your section leaders who have to teach over & over again. Also, I do not think it is up to your choice to decide whether you want to participate in any performances or not. Since when has it become a choice anyway? If you think it's time consuming, think of the amount of planning the leaders have done for the recital. Don't forget, your leaders have schoolwork and other stuff to look into as well. All we ask of you is to turn up, and practise your parts well. I will do a final confirmation on all those who are performing tomorrow. So please, turn up & attend practices with a mindset of wanting to learn & making the effort in playing.

Buddy System (names in bold are to teach those names not in bold) w.e.f from 31st Mar, Mon
Amanda Siow - Gillian, Amanda Ng, Janice
Michelle - Justina Lim, Alicia, Zoe
Maria/Angelyn - Jia Yan, Petrina, Shinling, Sindy
Qinghua - Rachel Tan, Jeanette, Ethel
Bernadette - Stacia, Clarissa, Rachel Quek
Eunice Lau - Charlyn, Sarah, Sarahfina
Beatrice - Cheryl Low, Justina Choo, Ru Yann, Shonelle
Cherie - Cheryl Zou, Bridget, Victoria, Kimberly
Sherrill - Rachel Thong, Valerie, Justina Gay, Jia Ying

Those "bold" people, you are responsible for the progress of your buddies. You are expected to be able to sight-read some other parts, as not all your buddies play the same part as you. Your buddies will be picked randomly to play any piece at any point of time during sectionals/ensemble. By 6.30pm tomorrow, every single performer for the recital has to complete 9 out of 10 recital pieces.

ANGELYN.

Heyyy!

We all know time is not on our side now, but still please practise your parts well! We are left with Una Noche to work on this coming Friday & by next week, we should be polishing up the pieces, refining the tonality etc. Guitar 2s, you all have the score already, look at it before you come on Friday. The most pressing task for everyone now is to play well as an individual. We'll miss practice again next Friday, so please make full use of practice time. We try not to call you all back for extra practices, but if necessary, we will.

Sec 2s, handwash your gowns and iron it (please don't set the temperature too high). ALL sec 2s to 5s, you are to BRING your GOWN & COURT SHOES on 7th APRIL, MONDAY. I would need for the sec 2s to get your shoes by then. By the way, make sure the shoes that you buy are able to last you till SYF next year.

ALL Committee members (be it current or probation), SOME of you will be asked to stay back some time next week. It will either a Tuesday or Wednesday. Will confirm again on Friday. This is my FIRST time getting the committee to stay back to complete a task. I hope to see full attendance. Guitar work has NEVER taken up much time of yours for most of you, thus, I think it's time for every committee member to put in some effort now, and to contribute to the ensemble as a committee leader. Especially the sec 4s, it's your LAST, I hope that everyone would graduate from the ensemble with a sense of contribution and accomplishment. Anyway, you people will stay back to do the tagging of instruments, designing of banner, committee handover meeting, collate replies and arrangement of performing venue. 5 in 1, yes, we want to stay back once and for all to complete all the necessary stuff. :D

Alright, attendance is crucial for this period, so please turn up for practice! 3pm this Friday, go to Level 4 classrooms first as there's tutorial in the MPR2, Be in Full-u! See you there! :D

LOVEEEEEEEEEEE!

Hello all!

With this week's break from CCA, I hope you all will still continue to do some self-practice at home, especially the sec 1s to 3s, you people have an additional day of holiday while the sec 4s & 5s have to return to school. So, you do your E-learning stuff tomorrow morning, and you self-practice in the afternoon like a typical Monday. Haha, before you all start whining that I keep asking you all to self-prac at home, fyi, there are CCAs who are coming back tomorrow for practices, so be thankful.

Your SLs don't expect you to over-practise, but the least you can do for them is to remember how to play those parts that have been taught. You know it's a torture to re-teach the same parts over & over again so, it is your responsibility to remember the parts.

With only 7 practices left to the recital, CCA will start at 3pm every Monday & Friday. Girls with tutorials, 3.30pm. Anyway, our recital decoration theme is darkness & shades. Hmm, think of things that stand out in the dark, (sth along that line). Very hard to explain here, lol. The mood/atmosphere is rather serene, and it has to highlight the NIGHT. Well, if you thought of any materials that can blend into the theme, please leave a tag. If you do know where to get nice reasonably-priced decor materials, please tag as well. Please contribute your ideas (even if you do not know if it fits the theme, just throw out your ideas), it's not the teachers/committee's recital, it's the ENSEMBLE's recital, so be an active member, and contribute to the ensemble.

Cya all at 3pm next Monday.

LOVE,
ANGELYN!

Hello!

Practice for both the sec 1s and the seniors was kind of good today, keep it up! For the seniors, all scores have been given out, please make sure you have all of them as I will not make any more copies after Wednesday. Please make the effort to go through the pieces at home since there'll be a super long break after Wednesday's practice. As for the sec 1s, go through the duets, and the 3 chords! Following are some videos' url that you all should go to listen to how the pieces sound like.

Yes, HALF-U on Wednesday. Meet at the sunken foyer at 8AM SHARP. Latecomers will be dealt with. Probation committee, please meet at 7.45am.

Yesterday (the last time i watched this, which was 2 years ago, it was taken off for a short while, so better watch it before it's taken off again)

I like the Vanilla Mood quartet. There are alot of videos uploaded on them, go take a look. At the same time, look at their expression, they play it with lots of feelings and enjoyment, something that we all should work on. :D

Hey there,

All sec 1s & those who did not turn up today, please meet at the sunken foyer straight after morning assembly tomorrow for a short briefing. It's urgent. Announcement will be made for you to report there. Also, everyone is to bring $2 for guitar fund this Friday (7/3). Holiday Practices are Monday (10/3), 9am-12n & Wednesday (12/3), 8am-3.30pm. Attendance is compulsory unless you are going away. Lessons are all conducted after CCA, so there should not be any clashes apart from Wednesday.

With effect from Friday (7/3),
students who submit parents' letter will be marked as 0 instead of E (excused) on the attendance list. Only letters with valid reasons like music exams will be considered as E. Pupils who leave early during practice must attend at least 75% (2.25 hrs) of the session before she can be considered as Present, if she did not meet the requirement and leaves earlier than that, her attendance will be a 0. Permission MUST be obtained from the teachers-in-charge to leave early. Note that attendance which are marked 0 will affect your CCA grade.

Only 1 student is allowed to visit the toilet at one time. Permission must be obtained from teachers/section leaders. For any replacement of scores due to misplacement, student will be charged at $1 per song. If there is any absentees in the section, section leaders have to keep a copy for them.

Breaks can only be issued by SLs with approval from the President. Members are required to come back on time (following the clock in the room they are in). If a member exceeds the 3 minutes allowance given, she will stay out of the room and practice by herself for 20 minutes (for sectionals).

In order to participate in performances, student must achieve 90% attendance (counted from 1st Jan to the performance date). If student is unable to make it for more than 2 rehearsals, she will not be able to join in the performance.

xoxo,
ANGEL'YN. (:
