Hey people,

Big thanks to those leaders who came down for the rehearsal today!

Sec 4s & 5s, you should have received your CCA grade as of 2007 by now. I know the majority scored a B3 or a B4. Don't worry so much, I believe with the combine camp, you can cover up your CIP hours & with the upcoming performances, your CCA grade should improve. So please turn up for practices, do more CIP (don't skip CIP!), take part in all the performances. After 4 years of CCA, I'm sure you want an A2 to have 2 bonus points rather than 1 right? Please bring the CCA grades reply slip on Friday, we'll hand in as a CCA group.

For the rest of you, please scroll down to read about the CCA fees payment. Note that there'll be CNY rehearsal next tuesday (5/2), 3pm in the hall. Attendance is compulsory for the rehearsal. Further details will be given on Friday (1/2).

xoxo,
ANGELYN!

Hey people,

There is CNY rehearsal for ALL sec 2s to 5s tomorrow (29/1) in the hall at 4pm. The rehearsal will end at about 6pm. People with class committee training or camp CORRI training, you are to go for the training first, and come for the rehearsal once the training has ended.

The songs we will be playing are 13 days in France & La Bamba. Please please please arrange your file & practise as much as you can! Please co-operate with Amanda. GUITAR PREFECTS! You do not need to perform the singing item for CNY with the prefectorial board, you'll play with the ensemble. Sorry for the last minute notice.

Please bring along your Edusave application form on Friday if you would like to pay your CCA fees via Edusave. Girls who are eligible to pay via Edusave would have already been informed by your form teachers. For Sec 1-3s, your CCA fees would be $180. For sec 4s & 5s, your CCA fees would be $120. For instructions on cash/cheque payments, please refer to the letter given out by your form teachers. Please do not delay payment, thank you.

xoxo,
ANGELYN!

Hi,

CCA practice on Monday starts at 3.30pm, and ends at 6.30pm for ALL sec 1s to 5s at the Multi Purpose Room 2. Tutorials officially ends at 3.25pm, so all should be able to settle down by 3.30pm. Committee leaders who do not have tutorials, please be there at 3pm to assist the sec 1s. Oh and if any sec 1s is reading this, just bring along a pen for CCA will do! (:

Just in case you're wondering why the links are all missing, due to the many requests and SOME reasons, all members' blog link will be taken off. You will be linked only when you graduate from SAC. (:

Hey there,

This is from Mr Ng. All CAC, PM, MM girls will be allowed to leave at 5pm on Friday for the camp.
---------------
Friday's the last time we can start practice early at 2.45pm. From next week onwards, tutorials/enrichments begin, hence we will be back to the usual 3.30-6.30pm slots on both Mondays & Fridays. Yes, there's tutorials on Fridays as well. Your sec 1s are also coming in next monday, the 28th, please set a good example as SENIORS. With the addition of the sec 1s, it brings the ensemble's total strength to 62. Big group, more self-discipline & co-operation needed from every single one of you.

The absenteeism rate has remained at 2.38% (1 absentee per prac) for the past few practices. If you all are able to maintain this way (best still reduce absenteeism to 0%), I'm sure the Guitar Ensemble would achieve a high number of distinctions for CCA grade. Please do not ever let the attendance rate drop! For the sake of yourself or the ensemble's reputation, MAINTAIN OR IMPROVE, that's it.

I hope to meet all the sec 4s & 5s in the canteen before CCA on Friday, at about 2.30pm. MUST
meet before you all go up for practice!

ANGELYN.

Hey,

As promised, updates after every practice. Perfect attendance today. One girl was absent but it was due to valid reason so, well done! Keep it up.

The clearing up wasn't that fantastic though. Stands were left infront again. I already said to put it in the metal cupboard according to your sections right! So, I better not see this on Monday. I'd like to remind you all about leaving scores/paper behind after practice. I found that technique booklet thing after practice today. You all know what Mr Choo will do if he finds it right, so please be more responsible!

2.30pm at MPR2 (the side facing the road) for people who end school at 1.45pm. 2.45pm for people ending school at 2.15pm. Don't try to cheat, I know all of your dismissal time.

Enjoy the weekend! (:

Hello!

Monday's attendance is pretty good. Only 2 absentees. Keep up the good effort! Should target for 100% attendance, I think it's possible. There were no scores left on the floor or anywhere after practice (all don't want the scores to be ripped apart right! Hahaha) & the room was cleared very quickly! See, if everyone plays a part in clearing up, it can be cleared in 3 mins! Although we ended like 15 mins later, but still, you only spent 3 mins on clearing up. So from now onwards, the rules for clearing up apply. Oh yes, I have something to say about the stands so if you happen to read this anyone, just remind me tomorrow!

Practice starts at 3pm tomorrow. Sec 2s, please come in at about 2.45pm to take measurements for the purple gown. Do not be late. Oh yes, from now onwards, please place your bags inside the MPR to prevent any loss of belongings and stuff like that. Put it in a neat row please.

Hi,
For the benefit of those who weren't around for practice today, I shall post it up here.

1) There is a new relay system up. I will be sending the contact list and the copy of the relay system via email to those who need to inform the others.

2) Submit your most updated contact numbers & address to Petrina by Monday if you haven't check against the contact list that was being circulated today. Go to the props room & read the updated rules & regulations paper.

3) It is everyone's responsibility to check here at least once/twice a week. Best if you can check here whenever you come online. As you know, everything has got to do with technology now, so it'll be easier if everyone can just refer to here for updates. Previously, we always pass down messages via the relay system to remind you of this & that. Now, I think it's time to have more individual responsibility to remember what time to report, what to bring etc. If you don't check here, it's your loss. Regarding what time practice starts, I'll still write it on the CCA board. Again, you have to check the CCA board everytime! During your recess, and after school. No excuses for not knowing.

4) Supports/Stands/Guitar slots will be reallocated. New arrangements will be made on Monday. All who did not turn up for practice today are to submit your MC to Petrina by Monday. Practice on Monday starts at 2.45pm, NO fall-in, MPR 2.

5) Sec 2s & 3s, ask your parents about the overseas trip. Refer to the link on the front page of this blog.

Hello all!

I think everyone had a very long break (extra one week for GE somemore). Alright, our first practice of the year officially starts this Friday (11/1). Fall-in at 2.45pm at the open area beside connexion. Just in case of bad weather, it'll be at the trophy area. There'll be 2 sec 4 classes having the NE Quiz till 3.30pm, if I'm not wrong. Please go straight to the MPR 2 after your quiz. I expect full attendance especially from the sec 4s & 5s on the very first practice. Start the year off right, okay! Well, for the first hour, there'll probably lots of administrative stuff to talk about and all, do bear with it!

Anyway, parents' letter are strictly not acceptable unless there's special reason/circumstances. You'll know more about it on Friday. Yes, don't try to leave early or not attend CCA and give parents' letter anymore. It's not so easy. And if you notice, the students' companion has the whole lot of procedure listed if parents' letter are given. To save yourself from all this trouble, do not make any appointments/tuition classes etc. on Mondays & Fridays.

By the way, we need to do the allocation of supports for the sec 2s, and re-allocation of the guitar slots in the props room so that when the new sec 1s come in, they'll have enough slots. Oh yes, the props room is sooooo untidy and unsightly, terrible. It's time to do some cleaning up! We'll probably use the time before practice next week or the week after, to do some re-shuffling and cleaning. We'll let you all know the dates soon.

Oh yeah, go visit the link for the Overseas trip on the very front page of this blog. The teachers will talk more about it on Friday & the coming practices but yeah, just go view it and find out more first! Expectations gone up this year I guess, at least for my expectations of the ensemble! Hah. Yupyup, so BE PUNCTUAL ON FRIDAY!

Hello all!

Hope school was good on the first day!

There'll be NO
CCA practice until next Friday (11/1). These are the people down for CCA Orientation this friday (4/1). I will need these people to meet at my class (4/7, 4th level science block) at 1.45pm sharp on friday.
Beatrice, Amanda Siow, Petrina, Cherie, Ethel, Sherrill, Sarah, Qinghua, Zoe, Maria, Michelle, Rachel Thong, Bernadette, Eunice, Justina Lim, Jeanette, Gillian, Kimberly, Shonelle, Victoria.

I will not make it an option to decide whether you want to be involved in the orientation or not. If your name is here, you have to go (unless there's a valid reason). It's a CCA day, so there's no excuse not to be able to make it. By the way, CCA resumes today just that we'll having orientation & audition so our practice starts at a later date. People who wish to be involved can let me know by tomorrow as well. Oh yes, I don't think I'll need everybody (those involved in orientation) to stay throughout the whole session, so some of you may be dismissed earlier.

There's sec 1 auditions on Monday (7/1) as well. Names of those involved will be out on Friday. I'll probably need some of you to be back on Monday to settle some Logistics and Admin stuff as well. To be confirmed again.

Hey all!

There'll be CCA orientation this friday so, I'll need everyone's help in the gifts. Meet at the CCA board area at 7am tomorrow & thursday. (Those who have prefects/music ministry duty whatever, go for your duty) If we can complete it within these 2 mornings, we don't need to stay back at all. I don't think everyone needs to be around for the orientation, will inform the people down for it tomorrow. I'll probably need all the committee members to be around & some of the sec 2s (2008). Will update here tomorrow again regarding our first practice.

I hope everyone received the message via relay system! Alright, some admin stuff to be settled on the first practice, so we'll probably start early. Will confirm timing soon!
---------------------
2007 has been the most fulfilling year in the ensemble's history. All would not have been possible without everyone's effort. Most importantly, we have great teachers like Mr Choo & Ms Farah who are always there for us, to guide and encourage us. Not to forget, we have Mdm Chen and the PFA staff/teachers who supported us during SYF as well.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I hope 2008 would be another good year for the ensemble, higher level of playing, more bonded and united.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY! (:

WITH LOVE,
ANGELYN!
