Hello all,
On the 5th day of Christmas, I've got many things to post up here! A brand new year ahead, hence new 'rules' or to put it nicer, a new way of functioning the ensemble. Anyway, please check the CCA board when school reopens becos I'm afraid there'll be changes to certain things!
Firstly, all stands will be labelled according to sections. Each section will have a box to store their 'section's stands'. There will be 2 people from every section to take charge of their section's stands. They are to bring the stands to wherever it should be every practice and distribute it to their section members. At the end of practice, all the section's stands must be placed back into the section's box and that 2 people will bring it back to the props room. The 2 people will be accountable for all their section's stands. The "2 people" will be changed every month (up to the section leader to decide). In this way, everyone contributes and it's more fair to the logistics members. So from now onwards, each section to get your own stands before practice starts.
Next, we will be starting this new 'system'. If all members of the section turns up for practice on that day, they'll be awarded 1 point. At the end of every month, we'll see which section has got the most points (aka most number of perfect attendance) for the month. The section with the most points will be exempted from clearing up for the whole of the following month. And here's a challenge to everyone, if the WHOLE ENSEMBLE achieves PERFECT ATTENDANCE for 4 practices, the top 3 leaders will do the clearing up for 8 practices. And the definition of clearing up means packing ALL the rooms that we use, meaning even if it's other section's room, you've got to clear it up also. I'll elaborate more on Friday. Oh yes, most importantly, if let say one person from the section is absent but has a MC, that section will still be awarded the point for that practice. But, if the person gives a parents' letter, the section will not be awarded.
Third, the logistics members will be assigning supports to the sec 1s, soon-to-be sec 2s. All supports and guitars MUST be labelled by Friday (11/1). The reason for the new 'rules' is to improve the way things are right now. I believe there'll be perfect attendance someday...It benefits not only us, but yourself, your CCA grade! Alright, anything to raise, do it at the tagboard. =D

In case of bad weather, if we're at Pasir Ris park, we will go to DTE and play at the arcade & have lunch. If we're at ECP, we will go bowling instead. Please confirm your attendance with me by Friday 14th Dec 07. If you're going, please decide on the place by leaving a tag! PETRINA. :D

Hello!
Guitar chalet down. Hopefully there will be another outing coming up. Do keep in touch with your guitar! Work on your sight-reading, train yourself to read notes faster and do practise scales! There are always people who forget how to play certain scale during ensemble even though we went through it before. So before you come for the first practice in 2008, make sure you know the following scales.
C major scale (2 octaves), starting from 5th string, 3rd fret.
F major scale (1 octave) B flat, starting from last string, 1st fret.
G major scale (1 octave) F sharp, starting from 3rd string (open).
A harmonic scale (1 octave) G sharp, starting from 3rd string, 2nd fret.
Memorise them, and do know what notes you are playing and not play it blindly. Make sure you know these 4 scales well becos we'll be adding on more scales. You wouldn't want to be stucked with C, F and G scales always right. As an ensemble, we should all target to play all the Grade 1-4 scales. So every week, we'll add in one new scale to learn, alright. (:

Guitar Reunion Chalet6th of December 2007, coming Thursday. Downtown East, Costa Sands Resort. 3pm-10am (next day)All are invited, including seniors who have already graduated. Chalet number will be posted here on Tuesday.
$2-$5 per person.BBQ will start at 5.30pm. You can come anytime from 3pm onwards and leave anytime you like. However, there is no free lunch or rather dinner in this world. So, each person has to pay $2-$5 for the cost. We've already tried our best to make it as low as possible. I will confirm the amount again once I get the confirmed attendance from you people. State whether you're staying over as well! Make things easier for us by letting me know whether you're coming as soon as possible!I hope all of you can try to fork out some time and come for the chalet! Take it as a chance to bond.
