Hey!
Yay, cheers to everyone for completing the Guitar Exam, like finally! (: Everyone's up one level now, that means, more techniques to learn, better understanding of the instrument, and more new things to be discovered! (:
There are some stuff planned/organised during the holidays. If you can make it, then do go for it! You need to bond, interact with each other and especially the leaders (be it the current or the future leaders, you'll never know when you might be leading), you will need the ensemble's support so, do some bonding! (: And I hope, more of the sec 1s can join in to organise some outing or whatever. The committee members do not need to be the ones organising things. Anyone can do it. Feel free to suggest some places on the tagboard! Don't leave the tagboard dead. (: Oh yes, if anyone else has anymore camp pictures, send it to me so that I can put it up on the flickr thing.

Hey there!
Guitar Camp was a really good one! All thanks to all your enthusiasm and participation. It's about 5-6 months more before the sec 3s leave, so I hope the sec 3s will make use of the time to 'pass on' your skills to the juniors. As for the juniors, please continue to strengthen the bond in the ensemble and always work together.
All the best to all those who will be taking the Guitar Exam on Wednesday (28/11)! Remember to turn up at least 45 mins before your stated examination time. Don't forget to bring your EZ-link/IC and the examination slip! For those people whose timings are between 9am to 9.30am, please come at 8am. There's probably lots of things to do. Those who are down for ushering duties on the 29th, please take note. Once you reach school, call me! (:

I hope you all have enjoyed camp! :) I've like alot of videos and alot of pictures in my camera now. So those who wants the pictures you can get it from me via MSN. This is my EMAIL. But I'll post the pictures in my blog, so you can go there and see them! :D
Next, as for the CCA tee, I'm really very sorry. The supplier will only come on the 29/11/07. So for people who are doing duties during the guitar exam day you can collect your shirts by then. Otherwise, you can only get it next year. Super sorry yeah? =/

This would be the seating plan for the SACPS performance as well as the grad. night performance.

Almost everyone have paid for their guitar shirts already. I know I do owe some of you $1, please remind me so that I can return you ur $1. For the sec4s & 5s seniors who have not paid me the $9. Please pay it to me or beatrice before this year ends. Thanks.
Lastly, for people talking the TCL exam. Its only 17days more to your exam. Please keep the finger nails on your right hand long. Try not to cut it short as it will help to produce a nicer sound coming out from the guitar. :D

Hi.
1) Rehearsal for Grad Night on Tuesday (13/11)
- Come in Full-U
- Report to sunken foyer at 10am.
- Arrange your scores before you come. I will be checking.
2) SACPS Performance (16/11)
- Come in White Top, BLUE Jeans and covered shoes.
- Report to sunken foyer at 8am.
- Arrange your score according to Lightly Row, Ronde, GHFS.
3) Grad Night Performance (16/11)
- Come in NEW Guitar Tee, BLUE Jeans and covered shoes.
- Report to sunken foyer at 6pm (tentative)
Anyone who fails to play any of the performing pieces will not perform. You will be informed by Monday (12/11) whether you fall into that category.
There will be a meeting for camp facilitators after the dismissal of Grad Night Rehearsal on Tuesday (13/11) till 3pm. All sec 3 committee members to attend a meeting at 9am on Tuesday (13/11). Meet at the sunken foyer.
People who applied for the Assistant Student Conductor position will be informed of your interview timing on Tuesday (13/11). Psst, some advertisement for the ASC below. Scroll down!
Everyone has to get the message that is passed down via the Relay System. If you hven't been receiving any information via the relay system for the past few days, let your 'leader' of your relay system group know. There will be another round of message pass down on Monday, do make sure you receive it.
Oh yes, for the last time, Guitar Camp is NOT overnight. However, attendance is COMPULSORY. So far there is only one person who has given me her travel documents which means, there should be 42 people attending the camp. Yes, so I better see the 42 of you present.

Application of the Assistant Student Conductor position is NOW OPEN!
Criteria:
1) Have basic understanding of musical knowledge
2) Have the interest in conducting or is keen to learn
3) Maintains a regular attendance
4) Is motivated to bring the ensemble's standard of playing up to a higher level
If you have met at least 2 of the criterias above, step forward and conduct the ensemble!
The role of an Assistant Student Conductor is exceptionally important for you will be the next Student Conductor conducting practices for SYF 2009 when Mr Choo is not around. You will take care of all musical aspects of the ensemble.
Steps to apply to be an ASC (for sec 2s & 3NA)/ASC in training (sec 1s):
1) All interested applicants and current ASCs in training to approach Angelyn for further details by 10th Nov 07.
2) You will be informed on the interview timing by 13th Nov 07.
3) Ensemble will be asked to vote for their choice ASC on 21st Nov 07.
4) Outcome will be announced on 22nd Nov 07.
If you think you are up to the challenge, go for it!

Hi all,
EVERYONE (except those that will be overseas on the 16th) has to report to the SUNKEN FOYER at 12.45pm this coming friday (9/11). You are to come in white top and blue jeans with covered shoes.
You are to bring a scotchtape, scissors, glue and a pencil. Those who will not be performing, please photocopy your travel documents and pass it to me personally.

The Assistant-Student Conductor position is open to anyone from sec 2-3NA, who is interested to take up this role. Please note that you have to make sure you are able to commit yourself to CCA by maintaining a regular attendance. You are to have a good understanding of basic musical terms (like dynamics p, pp, ff, f, rit), rhythm and notes. I don't mean that only people with music background can apply for it. You just need to have basic musical knowledge, able to read full scores and know what each section is playing. Please remember that this is an important role, for you will be the next Student Conductor and will be conducting 2009's SYF practices when Mr Choo is not around, so please consider carefully. For sec 1s who are keen to try out this role, you will first be shortlisted for the ASC-in training position before you actually take up the role as an Assistant Student Conductor.
There will be interviews conducted for all who apply for the position as well as a voting selection. Selected applicants will undergo conducting training during the Music Camp. More details will be announced this friday. If you are interested, do give it a try! (:

Hello!
All sec 1s and afew sec 2s who did not participate in SYF this year have to stay back for about 45 mins after practice tomorrow, to take measurements for your performing gown.
All committee members are to stay back for inventory and committee meeting till about 3.30pm. Attendance is compulsory. You may bring along a snack to munch on during meeting. (:
Those who have your personal guitars in the props room, you MUST bring them back home tomorrow. Be prepared to bring back your purple gowns (for those who already have) and shoes for the upcoming grad night performance. Don't forget to bring the choker thingy too. Will inform you all when to bring when details are finalized.
Lastly, don't forget to turn up for practice tomorrow! It's in the MORNING, 930am. Set your alarm at the right time please! (:
