hey all!
i hope you all understood what ms faridah said. i know everyone was amused by her. haha. but what she said makes alot of sense. she brought it across very well! we're at the gold, but we're only catching gold dust, we're not grabbing hold of it. and you saw how expressive she is? there's a great difference when everyone was playing in the "laughing mode". i could hear every single guitar, the honour of playing the piece in your playing. that was really good! but well, practice makes perfect! we will get better day by day.
anw, we need to drill on our prime pieces this monday! (: btw, the new com cleared the props rm today. we mopped, sweep, clean, packed, designed the props rm. this is how the props rm must look like!

dearest girls,
your playing is good, really. tempo, notes, rhythm & dynamics is not the issue anymore. you all have managed to work on that. the only concern is the expression. today, we concentrated on the volume. there is still a large range of volume that your guitar can go. bass & prime girls, i have showed you how loud your guitar can go. it is just a matter of whether you want to play it, or are you confident to play it loud. expression comes naturally. open your heart, mind, ears! get the recordings & listen it at home! trust me, listening to it repeatedly will help in memorizing your parts, expressing yourself & enjoy the music. once you keep listening to it, the music will just penetrate your brain cells immediately. (:
some of you may not feel that sense of urgency towards SYF. i know you might find it time consuming with just 5 weeks to MYE, & many CCA practices etc. but i would like to tell you that, it is a privilege to be involved in SYF. it's a GOLD that we want, we need to work for it. if you don't even work for it, what rights do you have to say that you want a gold? on SYF day, you will hear "st.anthony's canossian secondary, ______" i don't know if we will be jumping for joy or our hearts will break but if you know you have given in your best, the outcome doesn't matter right? this is your best, you can't go any further, then you can be proud to say that, i have given my best. 9 more practices, i hope everyone will work on parts that you are unsure of (ask SLs), & just strive for the SYF! do motivate each other. it's a team effort, not solo. we all had a taste of success during the exchange prog, isn't that feeling sweet? we can make history happen again. if you're free, go to the trophy area & see our big trophy placed there, remember, you're part of the success. you have a part in it! persevere! you're just one step away from the finishing line!

hey all,
niibori instruments tmr. report to the hall at 330 sharp. remember to bring your shoes & stockings! those with tutorials, be in the hall by 340pm. no later than that. all rules take effect from tmr!
all new com members are to come to sch at 10am on saturday for the cleaning of props room. btw everyone, NAFA SYF rehearsal is from 12.30pm to 5.30pm! you will definitely need to arrive before 1230pm. (:

announcements for today, (those who were absent due to orals etc. pls take note)
- be responsible for your own concert ticket. dress appropriately. assemble at 5.45pm sharp (sunken foyer) leaders are to sit at the side and at the back.
- the number of times that you drop a guitar will be noted down, be it accidentally/intentionally. warning will be issued for the first 3 times. 4th time, demerit.
- props rm '10 min' policy takes effect from today! upon dismissal, the 10 mins grace will take place. if you exceed 10 mins, only the P/VPs can decide whether to re-open the props room for you.
- guitar supports can be brought home with the condition that you will take responsibility.
there will be new rules and regulations implemented. all ensemble members will be officially informed nxt week after a confirmation with the committee. it's good to see that most of the consent forms are handed up. those who fail to hand up today (without any valid reason), it goes to show how much responsibility you have. from what i've noticed, it's the same people who did not hand up, you know who you are, if it's not given personally to mdm chen by tmr, YOU will not go for any of the events stated on the consent form.

HELLO ALL!
please please please get your notification forms signed and bring it tmr! (for sec 2s to 5s). EVERYONE (sec 1s pls take note) to report at 5.45pm SHARP at the sunken foyer on FRIDAY (23/3). ALL to wear home clothes (no sch-u allowed). however, no mini skirts/sleeveless tops etc. (you should know what i mean). dressed appropriately and smartly, please!
sec 2s to 5s, REPORT TO MPR 2 tomorrow! get both prime and niibori instruments. NO ONE is to go to the level 3 classrooms as there are sec 4 orals going on. please keep your volume down when you're getting guitars from props rm/outside the MPR 2! i don't want to hear of any complaints.

practice goes on as usual on monday, 3.30pm. will write on the CCA board on the instruments to take. start off with sectionals first. proceed to the usual rooms.
term 2 is gonna be a very busy & hectic term. practically, there will be events related to guitar, happening every week. so pls arrange your time properly, manage your academics, other stuff & CCA well. SYF, MYE etc. are nearing, cope well & score! (:

hey,
sec 2s to 5s, please remember to report to the bkshop area immediately after morning assembly tmr. i will be giving out the notification forms for the combine camp. YOU HAVE TO GET IT SIGN BY WEDNESDAY MORNING, IF IT'S NOT SIGN, YOU WILL NOT GO! and i mean it! i don't care if you're an important person in the eg. games com or the only person who can strum or whatever, NO PARENT'S SIGNATURE MEANS NO! this is the rule set by the school.
first verbal warning issued out to ALL those who came late for practice OR did not even turn up for practices. i need ALL your excuse letters IN by THURSDAY (15/3). your names are noted down. if you don't know who you are, your secretaries will announce it tmr.
- a maximum of 3 parents letter are accepted within a SEMESTER (2 terms)
- MCs must be submitted to secretary on the very next practice.
- leaving early from practice must also be accompanied by parents' letter.
- if there are no parents' letter or MC given to explain your absence, your attendance will be marked as 0. one 0, warning. 2 0s, warning + being refered to teacher-in-charge or PFA, 3 0s, refered to PFA + RTC.

there is a meeting for all committee members involved in the combined camp (inclusive of the probational vice presidents) straight after morning assembly tmr, outside the library. secondly, ALL ensemble members (sec 2s to 5s) are to meet outside the bookshop area on tuesday straight after morning assembly.
i would like to meet the assistant student conductors in training tmr, after school outside the drama room at 2.15pm.

Hello there! (:
For CCA tomorrow, theres NO need to take your guitars. So, donot walk to the props room area (the gallery area), because the sec3s are having their english orals there. Everyone is to report at the MPR. For those without tutorials report at 3.30 SHARP! Those with tutorials only 5-10minutes grace time would be allowed, otherwise you would be marked as late.
Regarding the SYF camp on saturday, there would be an SYF preview. Parents are welcomed for this preview, if your parents are coming, please indicate the number(s) of parents coming on the consent form and hand it to petrina TOMORROW! Thanks!

hey all!
it is CONFIRMED that you girls will leave class at 12.45pm SHARP on monday (5/3), for the sec 3 assembly performance. MEET AT THE PROPS ROOM! BE IN FULL-U! leave your bags in class. but, i do not want to hear of people going back to class cos you forgot to take your score etc. if i do have cases like that, you will not perform.
ALL OF YOU are to MEET at the bookshop area straight after morning assembly, 7.40am for an urgent briefing regarding the seating arrangement. attendance is compulsory. however, the sec 4s & 5s, you all are exempted from this briefing due to your MT MYE. those with runs, you are excused.
for sec 3s whose index numbers are within 1-20, your english MYE orals will fall on 7th march, wed. i need those who fall under that category to give me your names by sunday, so that you all can be excused from CCA. those ppl whose index numbers are 1-5, most likely you won't be excused from CCA, knowing that oral starts at 230, you will be the first few to go for your oral so, it shouldn't be eating into CCA time. (: the rest of you, when you're going to collect your guitars from props rm on wed, note that the sec 3 orals will be in the hall, so pls be absolutely quiet & go by the balcony instead of the gallery.
